CCD Camera Imaging - Planning
|
My planning program of choice is SkyTools3. It is excellent for forward planning. Not only does it identify target objects but it graphically illustrates the best times to image them. Its associated Interactive Atlas portrays a target object in the context of its surrounding field stars and incorporates an imaging frame matched to the imaging camera's field of view. This lets you plan the framing of your image long before you start your imaging session. It's quite a good idea to take a screenshot of the Interactive Atlas showing the placement of the imaging frame so that you will have a ready reference when aiming the camera before imaging.
