ProStar LP-Guide Colour Camera Images (using the Vixen R200SS)

Back
All images are taken unguided with the Vixen R200SS 8 inch f/4 Newtonian. This was an experiment to see how this little camera would perform with a dedicated astrograph. It was found that neither the Vixen's coma corrector nor the camera's x0.5 focal reducer would work with this camera / telescope combination and they had to be removed. Some coma is evident in the images even 'though the resulting small field of view occupies only a fraction of the overall image produced by the telescope. It is evident that much shorter exposure times can be used by comparison with the Vixen R130sf.
